The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television pays tribute to trailblazing film and television producer Jerry Bruckheimer with a free film festival April 1-27, presented in association with Paramount Pictures and the UCLA Film and Television Archive.
“The Heat is On: A Jerry Bruckheimer Film Festival,” at UCLA's Billy Wilder Theater, will recall highlights of Bruckheimer's indelible contributions to film history and the American motion picture industry, with a filmography ranging from war pictures to buddy comedies to freewheeling flights of fantasy.
Bruckheimer appears in person on opening night, April 1, for a screening of “Top Gun” (1986) followed by a Q&A. Among other films to be screened during the festival are “Enemy of the State” (1998), “Flashdance” (1983) and “Black Hawk Down” (2001).
