The Okawa Foundation awarded UCLA associate professor of computer science Miryung Kim a research grant of $84,000 to support her research project, “Toward Interactive Debugging of Big Data Analytics.” Kim is recognized for her international contributions to the research, technological development and business in the information and telecommunications fields.
Kim’s research focuses on software engineering, particularly on software evolution. Kim and her research team in the Software Evolution and Analysis Laboratory (SEAL), develop program analysis algorithms and development tools that more efficiently advance large-scale software systems. SEAL seeks to improve programmer productivity and program correctness by designing, implementing and evaluating automated software analysis algorithms and tools.
The foundation strives to promote and develop the field of information and telecommunications and to further international academic and cultural exchanges by awarding grants to researchers and engineers in Japan, the United States, China and Korea.
