Beth Klein, a junior development engineer in UCLA Division of Astronomy and Astrophysics, has been awarded the M. Hildred Blewett Fellowship by the American Physical Society.
Klein studies polluted white dwarf stars, elemental compositions of extrasolar planetesimals, formation and evolution of rocky planets and exoplanets, and high-resolution spectroscopy and imaging.
The fellowship was established to enable women to return to physics research careers after having had to interrupt those careers. It was established by M. Hildred Blewett, an accelerator physicist.
