Students from Amino Venice Charter High School handled human brains this week during Brain Awareness Week and picked up some basic science facts from UCLA faculty and graduate and undergraduate students. Each year, the UCLA Brain Research Institute hosts local middle and high school students, who come to campus to learn about the brain cells, structure and the senses before visiting research labs and touring the campus.
