Join the Fowler Museum at UCLA and Charlene Villaseñor Black for a discussion of saints on Wednesday, June 4 at 12 p.m. An associate professor of art history and Chicano/a studies at UCLA and the author of several works on the politicization of Catholic imagery, Villaseñor Black will focus her talk on the subversive potential of Catholic saints imagery in relation to concerns of human sexuality and gender. The discussion complements the current Fowler exhibition, "Sinful Saints and Saintly Sinners," which examines a series of crucial, and often controversial, divine beings.
