Clinton Bench has been named the new director of UCLA Fleet and Transit in UCLA Transportation, starting June 30. He will succeed Sherry Lewis, who is retiring after more than 41 years of service.
Bench received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts. Before joining UCLA, he served as manager of Transit Service Planning for the Boston Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and deputy executive director of Planning with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, where he implemented a landmark GreenDOT sustainability initiative and mode shift goal for the department, consistent with the Massachusetts Global Warming Solutions Act.
