Visit the Fowler Museum at UCLA to see the work of 24 artists and collectives — mostly from Brazil — that engage art’s potential to shape the city through the power of community. “Construction, Occupation” examines the intersections of art, activism and social justice through an urban transformation lens and invites visitors to think about how urban spaces can be reimagined through collective action.
The exhibition, which runs through Jan. 11, 2026, is curated by Alex Ungprateeb Flynn, an associate professor in the UCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance, and Juliana Caffé and Yudi Rafael, who are both independent curators based in São Paulo, Brazil.
