Contempo Flux Ensemble presents a free concert of contemporary music at the Jan Popper Theater, UCLA Schoenberg Music Building, on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m.

The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music ensemble of talented student musicians will perform under the direction of Gloria Cheng, UCLA faculty member and Grammy Award-winning pianist:

  • Estonian composer Arvo Pärt’s minimalist "Mozart-Adagio" (1992/1997) for violin, cello and piano, from Mozart's Piano Sonata in F major
  • American composer John Adam’s "Son of Chamber Symphony" (2007) and “Road Music” (1995), a minimalist composition for violin and piano
