Diana Bontà, adjunct professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, was awarded the Hispanics in Philanthropy Giver Award for her service as a leader in health funding in California.
Bontà is the former director of the California Department of Health Services, executive director of the Los Angeles Family Planning Councils and CEO of the California Wellness Foundation. Since 2004, she has served as the vice president of public affairs for Kaiser Permanente Southern California Region, where she manages several initiatives, including projects that fund collaborative efforts to provide clinic-based care to the uninsured and create educational programs that center on nutrition and physical activity. She is also currently a member of the board of trustees of the Health Professions Education Foundation.
