Three non-Senate faculty members and five graduate student teaching assistants have been selected to receive the 2014-2015 Distinguished Teaching Award. These recipients are in addition to six Senate faculty announced earlier this year.
The faculty honorees are:
Paige Greene, an assistant adjunct professor in the UCLA Department of Mathematics
Eric Sussman, a lecturer in accounting and real estate in the UCLA Anderson School of Management
Pavel Wonsowicz, a lecturer and director of the Academic Support Program at the UCLA School of Law
The graduate student teaching assistant honorees are:
- Jeffrey Bye, psychology
- Benjamin Court, musicology
- Zhao Li, chemistry and biochemistry
- Sarah Nance, English
- Patrick Reilly, sociology
As one of the highest honors given by the Academic Senate, the Distinguished Teaching Award recognizes academically and professionally accomplished individuals who bring respect and admiration to the scholarship of teaching. Recipients are selected from nominations received by colleagues and leaders across the campus.
All of the winners will be honored during the annual Andrea L. Rich Night to Honor Teaching ceremony in the fall, an event co-hosted by the Academic Senate and the UCLA Office of Instructional Development.
