Dr. Ashley Busuttil, associate director of the UCLA Department of Medicine Hospital Section based at the UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, will be assuming the newly created role of medical director of Clinical Operations, UCLA Health. In this new role, she will help lead our care management initiatives, addressing patient flow and through-put challenges both operationally and by collaborating with our physician partners.
Busuttil graduated from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency and chief residency at UCLA, after which she joined the UCLA faculty with a specialty in hospital medicine. She is actively involved in medical student and resident trainee education and has academic interests in quality Improvement, serving as director of quality Improvement for the Hospital Medicine Section. Very active in working both with the Department of Medicine and UCLA Health System in multiple quality and operational initiatives, Busuttil has specific focuses in readmission reduction and optimizing patient flow management and the patient experience.
