Edward Leamer, the Chauncey J. Medberry Chair in Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, a professor of economics and statistics and director of the UCLA Anderson Forecast, received the American Antitrust Institute’s (AAI) award for outstanding antitrust litigation achievement in economics.
Leamer’s work in high-tech employee antitrust litigation demonstrated that economic analysis can help determine if a class action is the appropriate vehicle for employees to seek redress for alleged harms. AAI is an education, research, and advocacy organization working to increase the role of competition, assure that competition serves the interests of consumers, and challenge abuses of concentrated economic power in the American and world economy.
