Eileen Scallen, associate dean for curriculum and academic affairs at the UCLA School of Law, has published 'Working Together in Law: Teamwork and Small Group Skill for Legal Professionals.' The book looks at group dynamics, conflict resolution and decision making to help legal professionals develop the cooperative and collaborative skills necessary to effectively work together.
Scallen joined UCLA in 2013. She earned her master's degree and J.D. from the University of Minnesota. Her first academic post was at the University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, where she received an Outstanding Faculty Member Award in 199, and served as associate academic dean from 1996-1998. In 2000, she joined the faculty at William Mitchell College of Law as professor of law and handled extensive pro bono work for national, state and local LGBT organizations in addition to expanding her research and teaching interests. Her research interests include rethinking theories of evidentiary privilege and developing new theories of influence in small group and team settings.
