A coalition of students, faculty and staff is a hosting an April 23 forum to encourage dialogue on campus climate and diversity-related issues.
The program will include facilitated discussions addressing issues such as bias response, student retention, building community among staff, crisis counseling, faculty hiring and workers’ rights. Organizers hope to provide an opportunity to learn about and get involved with efforts to enhance campus climate and diversity.
Registration begins at 2:30 p.m., followed by opening remarks from Daniel Solorzano, professor of education and associate dean for equity and diversity at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. The event, including dinner, is scheduled to run until 8:30 p.m. in the Pauley Pavilion clubhouse and concourse.
Co-sponsors include the Office of Diversity and Faculty Development, the Asian American Studies Center, and the Chicano Studies Research Center.
