Musician, producer and educator Danilo Lozano, brings Narada Production’s Cuba L.A. project to UCLA’s Fowler Museum for a sizzling hot concert of Cuban classics and contemporary songs at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. Showcasing some of L.A.’s finest musicians, the concert is sure to move audiences of all ages.
As founding member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Lozano recorded on all Hollywood Bowl releases and is a featured soloist in many Grammy-nominated Latin jazz and Cuban charanga recordings.
Lozano has maintained a personal commitment to education. He is a UCLA graduate and has taught here as well as the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and CSU Los Angeles. Lozano is currently a professor of ethnomusicology and flute artist-in-residence at Whittier College.
This will be the last day to view the “Nkame” exhibition before it closes. “Nkame” is the first solo museum exhibition in the United States dedicated to the work of Belkis Ayón, the late Cuban visual artist who created an independent and powerful visual iconography.
