Feb.4: James Mann on his book, 'George W. Bush'

The UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations is welcoming best-selling author James Mann to discuss his latest book, “George W. Bush,” on Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. In his book, Mann sketches an intricate portrait of the 43^rd presidency, tracing Bush’s pivotal moves, from Iraq to nationwide tax cuts.

The book was lauded by the Wall Street Journal as “a work of serious intellectual history and a nuanced analysis of the debates that will continue to shape American foreign policy long after the Vulcans themselves have left the stage.” The book unpacks the enduring legacies and consequences of the presidency defined by 9/11 and the war on terror.

Mann previously published a 2004 New York Times bestseller on the Bush military cabinet and is currently an author-in-residence at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
