Susanna Hecht, professor at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, has published "The Secret Lives of Forests: Past, Present and Future of Woodland Resurgence," which takes a comprehensive look at humanity's multidimensional relationships with forests and woodland. Hecht co-edited the book (to be released March 4 by University of Chicago Press).

Hecht focuses on political ecology. She is a professor of urban planning, and her research interests are diverse.
