Are you a faculty member for whom a UCLA librarian had a major impact on any of your courses, gone above and beyond to further your research or been a creative partner in an initiative or project?

Now is your chance to recognize that librarian’s contribution: Nominate him or her for the 2016 Librarian of the Year Award.

Bestowed annually by the Librarians Association of the University of California, Los Angeles, the award recognizes excellence in librarianship that furthers the teaching and research mission of UCLA and responds to the intellectual, informational and cultural needs of the university community.

Nominations should be made for a candidate’s specific contribution made during the past 12 to 18 months, rather than for overall career achievement. Any UCLA librarian who is employed 50 percent time or more can be nominated. Candidates should embody one or more of the following:

  • Creativity
  • Innovation
  • Courage
  • Leadership
  • Scholarship

Successful nominations include some or all of the following:

  • Letters of support authored by faculty, staff, other librarians or students, that describe the author’s experience with the nominee and the nominee’s impact on the author’s work and/or the university.
  • Websites related to the nominee’s work
  • Citations to publications
  • Descriptions of research
  • Media coverage

Bruman Endowed Chair in German History.
