Jack Rothman, professor emeritus in the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, has been honored with the Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award by the Council on Social Work Education.
Rothman, who joined the UCLA faculty in 1984, has promoted innovation, change and working for social justice throughout his career. He has done so with particular attention to serving vulnerable populations, reducing poverty and integrating the views of clients and constituents — especially those from racial and ethnic minority groups — into the processes of program development, advocacy and research.
The Council on Social Work Education, founded in 1952, is a non-profit national association representing more than 2,500 individual members, as well as graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education.
