Victoria Dailey discusses the history and cultural impacts of Los Angeles' most iconic tree in "Piety and Perversity: the Palms of Los Angeles." The Clark Quarterly Lecture takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. at UCLA's William Andrews Clark Memorial Library.
Dailey is an L.A.-based curator and writer. Her articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books and the New Yorker, and her subjects have ranged from Henri Riviére to the German émigré authors in L.A. to early modernism in Southern California. Dailey recently curated the UCLA Hammer Museum exhibition, "Tea and Morphine."
