A new book by UCLA history professor Juan Gómez-Quiñones, “Teorizando sobre la Revolución Mexicana: Interpretaciones de sus Historiadores y Cronistas” (“Theorizing on the Mexican Revolution: Interpretations by Historians and Chroniclers”), has been published by the National Institute of Historical Studies of the Revolutions of Mexico. In this book, Gómez-Quiñones offers a wide-ranging analysis of the historical and theoretical literature on the Mexican Revolution, extending its chronology back to the turn of the twentieth century and forward to 1940.
Gómez-Quiñones completed his bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. at UCLA. He has served as director of the UCLA’s Chicano/Chicana Studies Research Center and as editor of “Aztlan, International Journal of Chicano Studies Research.” His research focuses on the United States and includes topics such as labor, poltiics, social change and nationalism.
