Actress Judith Moreland, an adjunct professor in the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT), conceived and co-created the new Professional Program in Acting for the Camera. The only course of its kind offered through a professional, non-degree certificate program, it will begin in January 2016 and will be led by TFT faculty and entertainment industry professionals.
The immersive, year-long program will cover the fundamentals of acting and audition techniques for commercials, single and multi-camera television comedy, the one-hour television drama and film. Emphasis will also be placed on career development, financial planning, self-promotion and marketing.
Moreland attended the American Conservatory Theater, where she earned an M.F.A. She has acted on and off-Broadway with such companies as the New York Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights Horizons and San Francisco's American Conservatory, and she is the recipient of an Ovation Award and a Bay Area Theater Critics Award. Her work in film and television includes the movies "Dark Skies" (2013) and "Eagle Eye" (2008), and appearances on "Parenthood," "Grey's Anatomy," "Parks and Recreation" and many other television shows.
