Archaeologist Laura Tedesco, Cultural Heritage Program Manager for the US Embassy in Kabul, and Abbas Kamwand of the U.S. Embassy in Washington, D.C., will discuss efforts to save the art and culture of Afghanistan in a Hammer Forum, 7:30-9:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 30 in the Billy Wilder Theater at UCLA's Hammer Museum.
The event is an extension of the Hammer's exhibition “Afghanistan Carpet Project,” a collection of modern carpets designed by six Los Angeles-based artists and made by Afghan weavers, on view until Sept. 27.
The Hammer Forum is free and open to the public, but tickets are required and available at the Hammer Museum box office one hour before the program. One ticket per person; first come, first served.
