The UCLA community is invited to attend a panel discussion May 30 on the federal budget and Congressional appropriations processes. Key Washington insiders will discuss how the higher education community can best advocate for federal funding.
The panel features David Pomerantz, former Democratic staff director of the U.S. House Committee on Appropriations, and Marjorie Duske, director of science and technology policy in the UC Office of the President with federal government relations. Their discussion will be moderated by Francisco Carrillo, executive director of federal government relations at UCLA.
The panel will also discuss UCLA’s federal advocacy program and how the Office of Government and Community Relations can support faculty, administrators, students and alumni with the tools to successfully advocate at the federal level.
The event at the UCLA Faculty Center's California Room will begin with a reception from 5:30 p.m.- 6:15 p.m. followed by the program from 6:15 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The event is free but you must register for the event here. For event inquiries, call (310) 794-6817.
