UCLA's Hammer Museum's "Some Favorite Authors" series presents a discussion with novelist Mona Simpson, UCLA professor of English, and David O. Russell, Academy Award-nominated director and screenwriter, on Thursday May 8 at 7:30 p.m. Simpson's books include, among others,  "My Hollywood," "The Lost Father" and "Anywhere But Here." Russell is the screenwriter and director of such films as "Silver Linings Playbook," "American Hustle" and "I Heart Huckabees."

The evening's discussion will revolve around Simpson's most recent novel, "Casebook," which tells the story of a young boy and his dissolving family. The event is free and open to the general public. Find more information at the Hammer Museum.
