Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic brass and percussion sections performed March 15 on "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert. UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music faculty members Raynor Carroll (percussion), James Miller (trombone), and Thomas Hooten (trumpet), who are members of the L.A. Phil, performed Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" on the late-night show.
On its 2016 tour, the orchestra made a stop in New York to perform works by Copland, Andrew Norman, Mahler and John Williams at other venues before continuing on to Amsterdam, Paris, Luxembourg and London.
