The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music presents award-winning jazz studies students in two free concerts this week.
The Jazz Showcase, on Monday, Nov. 23, 7 p.m., at Schoenberg Hall, features award-winning jazz studies students combos directed by jazz great faculty members Kenny Burrell, George Bohanon, Clayton Cameron, Charley Harrison, Charles Owens and Michele Weir.
The Big Band Jazz Concert, on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 7:30 p.m., also at Schoenberg Hall, presents the UCLA Jazz Orchestra, directed by Charley Harrison; the LatinJazz Big Band, directed by Bobby Rodriguez; and the Ellingtonia Orchestra, directed by Kenny Burrell.
