Dr. Nupur Agrawal, assistant professor of internal medicine and pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, has been named a 2025 Macy Faculty Scholar.
She is one of five educators from across the country selected by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation for the program, which develops and nurtures the careers of future leaders in medical and nursing education. The two-year award, which begins July 1, covers $100,000 salary support per year and 50% protected time as well as $25,000 per year for professional development and project expenses.
In addition to her clinical interests in primary, preventive and gender health-related care, Agrawal is deeply involved in medical education at UCLA and an advocate for improving delivery of health care to patients and communities. She is a member of the Gold Humanism Society, has been named a Super Doctors Southern California Rising Star five times since 2020, and was awarded the 2019–2020 Med-Peds Outstanding Faculty of the Year award by the Medicine-Pediatrics residents.
“As the first Macy Faculty Scholar ever selected from UCLA, I’m incredibly excited to use the protected time, mentoring, curricular activities and national network of colleagues that comes with being part of the program to advance advocacy education across the medical education continuum and hopefully support the careers of our faculty here at UCLA in the process,” Agrawal said.
