The Hammer Museum presents "Mutant Salon: Festival De Las Muertas," a free performance and art festival on Saturday, Oct. 29, and Sunday, Oct. 30, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Los Angeles-based Mutant Salon describes itself as "a beauty salon and roving platform for collaborative performance and community-building that strives to foster connections between queer, trans, POC, womyn and mutant communities to celebrate an ethos of transformation and critical togetherness in the act of self-care."
Indulge in salon services that include a hairstyling "performance" (advance appointment is required here), makeup, nails, a costume station and Tarot readings. Also take in a collaborative art installation, performances, music, poetry readings, zines and videos.
