Getting an eye exam or filling a prescription for new glasses or contacts will be an easy campus stroll away starting Tuesday, July 1, when the new Ashe Vision Center opens at Ackerman Student Union. The full-service optometry clinic will be operated by the Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center. Located in the UCLA Store near the elevators, it will offer students, faculty and staff comprehensive eye exams as well as a selection of more than 700 eyeglass frame styles, sunglasses and contact lenses.

UCLA employees will be able to apply their UC Vision Services Plan (VSP) insurance; the clinic will bill VSP directly.  The new center will offer eye exams to active (not emeriti) UCLA employees only, because services to students will remain the optometry center’s first priority. Faculty and staff, as well as their dependents, can also have their prescriptions for eyewear or contacts obtained from outside the campus filled at the clinic.
