Heather Maynard, professor of organic chemistry in the UCLA College, received the 2019 Bioconjugate Chemistry Lectureship Award from the American Chemical Society for her contributions in interfacing synthetic and biological systems.
As the award’s recipient, Maynard will attend the society’s national meeting for the award presentation and give a lecture at the Bioconjugate Chemistry Lectureship and Award Symposium.
Maynard has been faculty in the chemistry department since 2002. Since arriving at UCLA, she has won many awards, including an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, a National Science Foundation Career Award and a Fulbright Specialist Award.
