Climate Resolve, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, will honor professor and vice chair Alex Hall of UCLA's Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences for innovative climate change research.

Dedicated to creating real, practical solutions to meet the climate challenge while building a better city for Angelenos, Climate Resolve will feature 300 environmental entrepreneurs representing solar, transportation and other breakthrough technologies at a reception benefit, Coolest in LA. The Coolest in LA awards gala will be held in downtown Los Angeles at the HNYPT space from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 15. A short program and video will celebrate five distinguished leaders, including Hall and UCLA's Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences.

Hall’s research has transformed the way people look at climate change. Focusing on reducing uncertainties associated with global climate change, Hall takes a global perspective on Earth’s climate. The overarching goal of his global climate research is to determine what controls the climate’s sensitivity to external forces.
