Rebecca Allen, professor of design media arts in the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture, is having her work featured in a solo exhibition in QUAD in England.
QUAD is an international center for engagement in contemporary art and film, focusing on major exhibitions, independent film and the creative use of emergent digital technologies. Allen’s exhibition features recent virtual reality artworks “Inside” and “Tangle of Mind and Matter” as well as a selection of other works drawn from her career, including the interactive large screen installation “Bush Soul (#3)” and the video “Musique Non Stop” which she made for electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk.
Allen’s artwork, which takes the form of virtual and augmented reality art, experimental video and large-scale performances, spans nearly four decades and embraces the worlds of fine art, performing arts, pop culture and technology research.
