UCLA Extension and the UCLA Division of Continuing Education announced the appointment of Radhika Seshan as associate dean of business development and chief operating officer.
In this position, she oversees business development and financial, administrative and operations of UCLA Extension, a self-supporting, nonprofit division of UCLA with annual revenue of more than $70 million.
“Seshan's appointment is key as UCLA Extension implements its strategic priorities to extend our reach, serve students first, and re-imagine learning,” said Wayne Smutz, dean of Continuing Education and UCLA Extension. “Her accomplishments and entrepreneurial vision at public and private organizations add strength to our mission.”
Seshan previously served as the executive director of continuing education programs at Bellevue College in Washington, where she managed a portfolio of 2,000 courses that enrolled 17,000 students.She has extensive global experience in providing leadership to academic, private (Lucent Technologies, AT&T Bell Laboratories), and entrepreneurial organizations (UI Evolution) and divisions.
Seshan holds a Ph.D. in international economics from the University of Houston.
