Kathryn Kietzman, a research scientist and project director of the Helping Older-Adults Maintain independencE (HOME) Study at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, has been appointed to a four-year term on the Santa Monica Commission for the Senior Community. The HOME study examines how low-income, older Californians with long-term care needs develop and sustain a network of care that enables them to remain safely in their own homes.
Kietzman earned her doctorate in social welfare from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and has done research on public policy and long-term care for more than 10 years. The commission focuses on preserving and improving the quality of life for Santa Monica residents 60 and older.
