Editor’s note: This page was updated May 13 to reflect changes in previously scheduled activities, and to add that RSVPs for the Bike Luncheon and registration for T-shirts have closed. Please join UCLA Transportation at one of the mobile repair services pop-ups.
Around the corner after Earth Month in April is May’s national celebration of biking, which is healthier for the planet and people. Join UCLA Transportation this month and grab life by the handlebars as the department highlights the health and wellness advantages of biking and how Bruins can ride and thrive.
UCLA Transportation is committed to making cycling on campus easy, safe and fun by working to build a connected and accessible UCLA with a transportation option that offers the Bruin community many benefits.
Biking improves physical and mental health in several ways, including strengthening the immune system, toning muscles, boosting mood, easing stress and more. Biking helps you feel healthier and happier, and when lots of people ride, communities are safer and friendlier, and it’s greener for the environment.
Whether you regularly bike commute to campus, are a casual recreational rider or are thinking about hopping in the bike saddle for the first time or again after some time away, all are welcome to participate in Bike Month at UCLA.
UCLA Transportation will host two-wheeled themed activities with giveaways throughout the month, including mobile repair station pop-ups with the UCLA Bike Shop and Velofix, and a special lunch event to acknowledge our community of campus cyclists and promote pedal pushing to other Bruins.
