Come celebrate the career of five-time Oscar-nominated director Robert Altman at one of the final installments of “Robert Altman: A Retrospective” at the Billy Wilder Theater in Westwood Village on Wednesday, June 25, at 7:30 p.m.

For the past three months, UCLA Film and Television Archive has screened Altman’s films in remembrance of the acclaimed director and his impact in Hollywood throughout his prodigious career. The retrospective, which opened April 4 and will run through June 29, has garnered buzz from the Los Angeles Times, which called the event “a comprehensive look at the maverick director's expansive body of work.”

The evening of June 25 will feature screenings of “Zinc Ointment,” a 1971 documentary on Altman and his crew’s turbulent experience filming  the western “McCabe & Mrs. Miller,” followed by “Vincent & Theo,” the Altman-directed 1990 Vincent Van Gogh biopic. Online tickets are available here for $10; the event is free for UCLA students.

Catch the rest of the screenings on June 27 and 28. Ryan Phillippe, one of the film’s stars in "Gosford Park" (2001) will appear in person at the film's June 28 screening.  On June 29, the last two Altman-directed films, “Company” (2003) and “A Prairie Home Companion” (2006), will be shown.
