On Thursday Sept. 15 at 8 p.m., 20-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist Pat Metheny will perform at Royce Hall for the first time in 14 years. Appearing with him will be Antonio Sanchezon on drums, Linda Oh on bass and Gwilym Simcock on piano.
Called "one of the most industrious creative engines in jazz" by the New York Times, Metheny was recently inducted into the Downbeat Hall of Fame as its youngest member and only the fourth guitarist. He is known for his versatility and unique style which includes contemporary jazz, post-bop, Latin jazz and jazz fusion.
The evening is presented by the Center for the Art of Performance (CAP) UCLA. Tickets are $25 for UCLA faculty and staff, available online here.
