Seeking STEM faculty to become mentors to graduate student screenwriters and directors

To help screenwriting and directing graduate students in the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television who will be competing for Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowships, which promote science fact in film and television, the school is looking for faculty in the sciences, medical and technology fields, who could become mentors to the students as they create plausible, science-based scripts.

During the Alfred P. Sloan Film Grant Colloquium, which will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, interested TFT students can find out more about the fellowships, of which seven grants will be awarded totaling $150,000. The colloquium will outline the application and decision-making processes and the science resources available on campus as well.

The Alfred P. Sloan Film Grant Colloquium will take place on from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the James Bridges Theater in Melnitz Hall. Lunch will be provided.
