Three outstanding UCLA staff and faculty members have been named to receive prominent annual awards from UCLA Staff Assembly and the UC Council of Staff Assemblies.
Patie Johnson, assistant dean in the division of life sciences, will receive the Chancellor’s Excellence in Service Award, which is presented by UCLA Staff Assembly to recognize a staff member who has made outstanding contributions to UCLA’s mission.
Rosemary Chavoya, assistant dean of the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, will receive the Kevin McCauley Memorial Outstanding Staff Award. Awarded by the UC Council of Staff Assemblies upon nomination by the UCLA Staff Assembly, this honor recognizes a staff member who demonstrates dedication to equity, diversity and community.
Professor Willeke Wendrich of the department of near eastern languages and cultures and director of the Cotson Institute of Archaeology, will receive the Faculty/Staff Partnership Award, which reflects the values of collaboration and collegiality between faculty and staff.
Johnson, Chavoya and Wendrich will receive the awards during Staff Assembly’s Recognition Awards and Staff Scholarships Reception on Wednesday, June 29, 2-3:30 p.m. at the James West Alumni Center, with a reception to follow. Staff Assembly Staff Scholarships will also be presented. All members of the UCLA community are invited to attend. Because space is limited, an RSVP is required. RSVP here.
