The UCLA Administrative Management Group (AMG) has announced this year’s recipients of the annual Excellence in Leadership (EXCEL) Award, as well as two new awards – the Distinguished Career Award and the Rising Star Award.
Raellen Man, director of research in the department of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, is the recipient of the annual EXCEL Award for her leadership on campus. Her training expertise, mentoring and service has proven to be resourceful to many, especially to those in the health sciences, according to an announcement of the awards by AMG chair Courtney Klipp.
Michael Heafey, executive director of building services at the Anderson School of Management, is honored with the Distinguished Career Award for his dedicated service of 38 years at UCLA. His high standards, professionalism and moral fortitude have made a lasting impact at UCLA, noted Klipp.
La Shonda Coleman, director of college programs at the Rape Treatment Center at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, is the inaugural recipient of the Rising Star Award. She is recognized for her service and contributions to UCLA, law enforcement officials and health care workers in navigating social and moral issues associated with sexual assault prevention.
The awards will be presented at the AMG Excellence Awards Celebration in August, when each recipient will speak about his or her leadership experience at UCLA. Campus staff members are encouraged to attend. To receive information and a registration link, subscribe to the AMG listserv here.
