Bruin pride was in full force at the inaugural True Bruin Move and Groove 5K on Sunday, March 30. More than 900 UCLA staff, faculty and students and their families and friends took off at 8 a.m. from the starting line in Wilson Plaza and covered the 5 kilometer (3.1-mile) run/walk course through campus. Also on-hand were 100 volunteers who helped with logistics and cheered the racers on.

A fair with music, food and more followed. The event was hosted by UCLA Staff Assembly, with funding support from the Healthy Campus Initiative.

Fleet-footed Tony Torres, a food services staff member at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, finished first overall with a time of 16:51 minutes. Read more about Torres, a longtime marathoner, in this UCLA Today story.
