Adam Schoenberg, a noted young composer and a lecturer on music theory in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, will have his music performed this year in venues around the world.

Schoenberg is one of the most performed composers of his generation. This season, his orchestral works will be performed before audiences ranging from Florida to Finland; his composition "Finding Rothko" will have been played over 40 times.

In November, pianist Nadia Shpachenko released an album of piano music that included Schoenberg’s "Picture Etudes," inspired by Mussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition" and "Bounce" for two pianos. "Bounce" for orchestra was co-commissioned by the Aspen Music Festival and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Be on the lookout later this year for Adam’s orchestral portrait recording made by the Kansas City Symphony and featuring "Finding Rothko," "Picture Studies" for orchestra, and "American Symphony."

Schoenberg attended the American Academy of Arts and Letters and received his Doctor of Musical Arts from the Julliard School. He is the newest member of the Atlanta School of Composers and has been commissioned to write three works for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
