UCLA’s annual campus closure will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and will continue through Jan. 4, 2015, with the campus reopening on Monday, Jan. 5. The annual winter closures have allowed UCLA to achieve energy savings and continue to be a highly effective approach to power conservation for a specific period of time. Details about selected facilities and services that will remain available will be provided later thisi month or early in December.
The 12-day closure includes four university-paid holidays (December 24, 25 and 31, and Jan 1, 2015). However, four days (December 26, 29 and 30, and Jan. 2, 2015) are not paid holidays. Staff members can find details from Campus Human Resources here about using vacation days or compensatory time for those four non-holidays. Employees who pick up their paychecks will also find information there about where and when to do so during the break or how to set up direct deposit to their bank accounts.
