The Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology (CEIN) in January received the California Governor's Environmental Economic Leadership Award. The center was co-founded by Yoram Cohen, a professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering, who is the center’s co-principal investigator. CEIN was recognized for becoming “a world-class research facility focused on the responsible use and safe implementation of nanotechnology in the environment.“  The center is based in the California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA.
