Reynaldo F. Macias, professor in Chicana and Chicano studies, has been selected to receive the 2014 National Association of Chicana & Chicano Studies Scholar Award. The award was established in 1981 to recognize life achievement contributions of scholars to Chicana and Chicano studies.
He will be recognized at the association's annual conference to be held April 9-12 in Salt Lake City. A former chair of the UCLA Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies and the César E. Chávez Center for Interdisciplinary Instruction, he has joint faculty appointments in the departments of Education and Applied Linguistics.
