Chandra Ford, professor of community health sciences in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, is co-leading the project with Monica Ponder of Howard University.
The association is made up of researchers, teachers, students, writers and activists who are dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of U.S. culture and history.
The trend was seen across all the racial and ethnic groups studied and could provide insight into improving vaccination rates for COVID-19 and other illnesses.
