Center will bring together academic researchers, students and health care executives and practitioners to explore critical issues in the management of health care organizations.
The program will train future primary care physicians to help ensure they are able to address the physical and mental health care needs of people who are LGBTQ.
Dr. Zhijian (James) Chen of the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is the recipient. Chen has performed groundbreaking work on the mechanisms underlying the cellular response to infection.
“We can no longer look at this disease as one in which we should always be measuring survival in months,” said UCLA’s Dr. Edward Garon, the lead author.
