Centennial Campaign for UCLA

After UCLA's traditional Spring Sing on Friday night, students gathered outside Royce Hall to be amazed by a show projected on the historic building's face.

Taylor Bazley, a UCLA senior, grew up in a poor neighborhood in San Diego. So when he was admitted to UCLA, Bazley knew it would change his life.

Angela Sanchez wasn’t sure if she could finish high school seven years ago when she and her father were homeless. Today, the graduate student is positioning herself for a successful career in higher education administration.

A scholarship liberated Mary Kavonian from the need to work or worry about finances. So she sought out opportunities to do community outreach that eventually led her to a career choice.

Growing up in South Los Angeles, Jeremy Edwards was frequently on the move with his hard-working single mom. In June, he will become the first in his immediate family to earn a bachelor’s degree.

The campaign seeks to secure the institution's future as a center for higher education where innovative teaching, groundbreaking research and dedicated service advance the public good.

The Centennial Campaign for UCLA launches with campus festivities May 16-17. The $4.2 billion fundraising effort conclude with UCLA’s 100th anniversary in 2019.
