UCLA's associate vice chancellor for student and campus life today heard an appeal by UCLA freshman Hakop Kaplanyan challenging his interim suspension, which was imposed by the university following his arrest on suspicion of rape earlier this month. The appeal is now under review by the associate vice chancellor, and a decision is expected sometime next week.

Given the confidentiality that governs the process, UCLA will not elaborate further on ongoing student conduct matters. For a complete explanation of UCLA's policy on interim suspensions, please refer to section IV-A of the Student Conduct Code (pg. 30): http://ucla.in/ZMHqMh.
